Rumpl Native Artist Series

HIGHLIGHTING INDIGENOUS ARTISTS, RUMPL’S COMMITMENT TO THE FIRST PEOPLES FUND

For Fall 2020, Rumpl partnered with the First Peoples Fund and Native American artists Jordan Craig and Darby Raymond-Overstreet to bring their designs to life across cozy, collectible blankets. A portion of sales from this indigenous collection benefited the First Peoples Fund, an organization whose mission is to support and empower Native communities and artists. The partnership signified Rumpl’s first step in its commitment to the Indigenous community and against the use of culturally appropriated designs.

rygr was tasked with driving deep brand storytelling aimed at honoring the Indigenous artists, designers and culture bearers, opening up constructive and educational dialogues, and bringing awareness to cultural appropriation and taking action in an industry where this issue has largely been overlooked. Our team provided media training to the artists ahead of placing stories and then facilitated a series of video and phone interviews with outlets including Brit+Co and Barron’s.

Coinciding with the launch of Rumpl’s Native Artist collection, rygr secured 11 placements to the tune of 20 million impressions across a broad swath of targeted media. These placements averaged 47 points on rygr’s 50-point contextual scale, meaning they connected with our target audiences, featured key messages and assets, and were positive in tone. Coverage highlights included brand features and interviews in titles like Brit + Co, Sunset, Men’s Journal, and Barron’s.
