Brian Holcombe is the principal of Carbondale, Colorado-based media agency rygr, where he helps leading brands like Salomon and Fjällräven drive deep, lasting connections with active lifestyle consumers through traditional media relations activities as well as emerging channels like social influencer campaigns and paid social media promotion.  Prior to launching rygr in 2016, Brian served as associate PR director at Backbone Media, collaborating with account teams on successful campaigns for clients including Smartwool, Field Trip Jerky, Diamondback Bicycles, POC, Walls and Strava.  With a background rooted in media, specialty retail and outdoor leadership, Brian joined Backbone following a five-year stint at VeloNews, where he directed online content for the cycling publication. He holds a Masters degree in Public Relations and Marketing Communications from the University of Denver.  Brian spends his free time picking a variety of stringed instruments, adventuring with his wife and sons on river and land, coaching youth soccer, carrying a bow around in the mountains, and training for whatever life delivers next.

Eric Hockman is an account manager, leading the Primus and Leave No Trace accounts, as well as contributing support to the Fjällräven.  After wrenching professionally at cycling races around the U.S., holding a variety of technical marketing and support roles in the bike industry, and focusing on non-profit event work for World Bicycle Relief and Protect Our Winters, Eric joined rygr with an insatiable appetite to connect more people with the outdoors.  As an avid bikepacker, splitboarder, and photographer, Eric has contributed story-based content to Big Agnes, Stio and Ridgemont Outfitters. Greg Fitzsimmons is an associate PR director at rygr, contributing leadership to the agency’s team of public relations professionals. A California native, Greg moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2007 after completing the Columbia Publishing Course.  Greg previously worked in the travel and destination marketing verticals with PR, content marketing, and social media clients, including Aspen Chamber Resort Association, Ski Portillo and Tierra Hotels. He formerly served as the advertising manager at  Rock & Ice , an editor at  Aspen Magazine , and an editor at Francis Ford Coppola’s literary magazine  Zoetrope: All-Story , and has contributed to numerous magazines, websites, and brands as a storyteller. His writing has been featured by ESPN,  GQ ,  Outside Magazine ,  SKI, Skiing,  and  Powder , among others. Greg has worked on content projects for brands like Patagonia, GoPro, Red Bull and Blizzard Skis.  Greg lives in Carbondale, Colorado, with his wife, Brie, and their sons, Duke and Boone. When he’s not working, you can find Greg spinning laps on his home mountain of Ajax during the winter, hiking with the boys and mountain biking during the summer, and he's always searching for a new warm-water right-hand point break to surf.

Katie Hostetler is an account manager at rygr, where she works with partners including Body Glove, Front Runner and Salomon.   Prior to joining rygr, Katie served as a senior account executive at ECHOS Communications in Boulder, Colorado, where she worked with brands including Rumpl, DB and Faction Skis. A 2017 graduate of the University of Colorado, Katie served as captain of the CU Buffs alpine ski team and was a member of the 2015 national championship squad.  A burgeoning climber and family river-tripper, Katie is a core skier through-and-through.

Tim Nooney is an account coordinator at rygr, supporting the KEEN footwear and Norrøna accounts.  Prior to joining rygr, Tim served as the retail sales manager for Big Stone Publishing titles Rock & Ice and Trail Runner Magazine. Tim graduated from Frostburg State University with a B.S in Philosophy and Psychology and has worked as a climbing guide.  Outside of work, Tim explores the mountains on foot. He focuses on trail-running and ridge-scrambling link-ups in the mountains of Colorado. When he’s not on the trails, he is otherwise found several pitches up in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison River. Tim has a lot of goals and ideas for adventures, only a few of them are actually practical.

Emily Banks is an account manager at rygr, where she manages the Salomon footwear, apparel and gear account, as well Suunto.  A graduate of Middlebury College, where she studied creative writing, Emily is a former contributor to Trail Runner magazine and co-founder of Fireside Outdoor Magazine, an adventure-themed literary magazine featuring student work. Emily spends her time outdoors chasing trails, fresh turns and incredible views (for herself, not Instagram).

Max Krapff is an account manager at rygr, working with brands including Front Runner and Truewerk, as well as supporting experiential marketing efforts across the agency.  Prior to rygr, Max worked as an account manager at The Pineapple Agency, where he created and produced large-scale activations and PR stunts for clients such as Under Armour, Rivian and Anheuser-Busch.  A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, when Max is away from the office, he invests time with his wife and dogs following college football, fly-fishing, uphill skiing, and chasing the best light for photography.

Maddy Fones is an account manager at rygr, where she leads execution of PR strategy for clients Ascent Protein and Salomon ski hardgoods.  A St. Lawrence University graduate and former operations manager for a well-regarded Aspen, Colorado-based guiding service, Maddy is a champion ultra runner and ski mountaineer, as well as an L1 CrossFit coach. She hopes to one day pet your dog.

Katherine is an experienced PR and marketing strategist with a focus on travel/hospitality, luxury lifestyle and the nonprofit sector.  Prior to joining rygr, Katherine served as an account executive at Wagstaff Worldwide, where she conceptualized and executed public relations campaigns on behalf of clients including St. Regis Aspen, Marriott Marquis Houston and Awaken the Peace. She previously held marketing and media relations roles with Jazz Aspen Snowmass and the Aspen Art Museum. A graduate of Western Michigan University, Katherine cut her teeth as a reporter at the Santa Monica Mirror before turning to content marketing for brands such as DC Thomson Family History.  Away from work, Katherine enjoys packrafting adventures, hiking and uphill skiing.

A graduate of University of Hartford, he studied business and played Division 1 lacrosse.  Rob’s midlife crisis came early and he escaped to thru-hike both the Pacific Crest Trail and Continental Divide Trail in his 20s. You can find Rob trail-running aimlessly around the high country with his wolfdog, consuming stand-up comedy, and browsing Strava.
