DPS Skis Announces ‘Dreamtime’ Annual Customer Appreciation Event
Salt Lake City-based ski maker to offer limited-edition all-mountain and touring skis during their mid-summer promotion along with upcoming Winter ski collection
SALT LAKE CITY (July 19, 2022) — DPS Skis, the U.S.-based ski manufacturer pairing space-age carbon technology with groundbreaking shapes, announces its annual Dreamtime customer appreciation event starting July 25. Through August 10, Dreamtime is the only time of the year when DPS releases two new constructions of the Powderworks division skis, two Special Edition Pagoda skis, and the entire upcoming Winter ski collection at discounted prices. Consumers can take part in Dreamtime 2022 at ww.dpsskis.com or at their favorite DPS retailer.
“For DPS, Dreamtime is a moment when we get to experiment with new shapes, constructions, innovative materials and sustainable manufacturing techniques. It is a time when we get to continue pushing the threshold for what high-performance carbon skis have the potential to be,” says Thomas Laakso, vice president of product and operations at DPS Skis.
Powderworks skis are released in limited quantities once a year during Dreamtime and their unique constructions represent DPS’s most advanced research and development efforts. This year, DPS launches the Powderworks 100 RPC ($1,549), the long-awaited hard-pack big mountain charger. With a 19m turn radius and 100mm waist, the PW 100 RPC holds an edge like a FIS Super G ski, has the mass and damping to chop through crud on the slopes and is stable on any landing.
The Powderworks Tour 110 C2 ($1,549) launches exclusively during Dreamtime. With a 22m turn radius and 110mm waist, the PW Tour 110 C2 is built for fast, charging turns down big backcountry faces and is made using the latest Pagoda Tour construction, allowing limitless human-powered laps.
Like Powderworks skis, Special Edition skis are released once a year, exclusively during Dreamtime, and these small-batch skis are made in DPS’s Salt Lake City factory. For 2022, the Special Edition Pagoda designs represent a balance of constant forward progress while fondly recollecting an easier time and heartbeat of the past through their retro color scheme and line art. The Special Edition Pagoda ($1,549) is constructed using a new Algal Sidewall Technology, which features 63-percent bio-based content sourced from microalgae. It provides a unique combination of both a vertically and horizontally layered core that quiets inconsistencies and elevates the electricity of carbon. The Special Edition Pagoda is only available during Dreamtime, discounted by $250 and available in two colors and models, 100 RP and 112 RP shapes in various lengths.
In addition to the limited-run skis, DPS introduces its entire winter collection. The Pagoda Tour ($1,549) is new for Winter 2022/23 and is a lightweight touring ski that provides the perfect balance of uphill and downhill performance. The Pagoda Tour is made using DPS’s new Third Rail Technology, an additional sidewall material that is incorporated into the core of the ski within the key vibration nodes, improving the integration between the core and sidewall. While still maintaining the industry’s lightest performance-to-weight ratio, Third Rail Technology makes this new generation of touring skis damper, more durable, more stable and more environmentally friendly than previous iterations. The Pagoda Tour will be available throughout the 2022/23 season and is discounted by $200 during Dreamtime. The skis are available in five models and lengths: 90 RP, 94 C2, 100 RP, 106 C2, and 112 RP.
DPS also introduces the Pagoda Lotus 117 ($1,549) for Winter 2022/23, a do-it-all deep powder ski built for a range of soft snow conditions. The Pagoda construction performs well in resort and backcountry settings, with the perfect balance of energetic turns and dampness for speed. The Pagoda Lotus 117 will be available throughout the 2022/23 season and is discounted by $200 during Dreamtime. The skis are available in four lengths: 171cm, 178cm, 185cm and 191cm.
This season, DPS also introduces a new Travel collection, including the DPS Daily Duffel ($189.95), the DPS Hourly Daypack ($159.95), and the DPS Mission Quiver Roller ($249.95). The Daily Duffel is designed for ski gear whether you’re just hauling your kit back and forth to the car, or for longer trips. The Hourly Daypack has a padded laptop compartment for those necessary work breaks during the ski day and the Mission Quiver Roller holds up to three pairs of skis with ample space for storage. The entire Travel collection will be available throughout the 2022/23 season and is discounted by 15 percent during Dreamtime.
Special Edition skis, in-line 2022-23 collections, and limited-run skis will be reduced by $200-250 through August 10. All accessories, including apparel, gear, and PHANTOM Glide, are reduced by 15 percent during Dreamtime, the only off-price window of the year for DPS. The DPS R14 ($799.95) and DPS R10 ($749.95) tech bindings will also be available with a free binding mount with a ski purchase. The collections will be available at dpsskis.com and at select online and brick-and-mortar retail partners. For more information on select retail partners, please visit dpsskis.com/dealer-locator.
