Executive leadership and sales management additions expand the teams at outdoor equipment

LOUISVILLE, Colo. (Feb. 10, 2021) — Primus, the Swedish heritage outdoor equipment brand known for reliable, safe and innovative cooking products that have helped people enjoy the outdoors since 1892, and Brunton, the U.S.-based manufacturer established in 1894 known for precision outdoor navigation instruments, are proud to announce the hiring of Scott Duer as director of sales for both brands and Lauren Heershap as the professional sales manager and product specialist for Brunton.

“Scott joins Primus and Brunton after being intimately close to our brands for the past four years with Clear Creek Reps, a respected and seasoned sales agency in the outdoor industry,” says Becky Day, marketing manager for Primus and Brunton. “He brings nearly three decades of experience in the outdoor industry and an expansive network of customer relationships, as well as a diverse wealth of knowledge having worked with premium brands throughout his career. We’re thrilled to welcome Scott to the team to lead and grow our brands with his strategic, creative, and energetic sales approach.”

A passionate skier, hiker and experienced camper, Duer has a strong connection to the outdoors. He is dedicated to spending time outside and inspiring others to do the same. Throughout his career, Duer has managed global and domestic sales and marketing teams with respected outdoor companies, including G3, Rottefella, Zamberlan and Katadyn. In addition, Duer’s enthusiasm for Primus and Brunton is further accentuated as he was named “Sales Representative of the Year” in 2019 for his pioneering approach to customer relationships and brand growth.

“Having worked alongside Primus and Brunton for nearly half a decade, I’m honored to join the team and bring my passion and experience to two brands I respect and care deeply about,” says Duer. “Given my background in working for a range of premium outdoor gear manufacturers that users have come to trust and respect, I couldn’t be more excited to lead, evolve, and grow our brand recognition and sales in the market.”

Additionally, Brunton announces the hiring of Lauren Heershap as professional sales manager and product specialist. Heershap’s role will provide Brunton with new growth opportunities in the service and professional instrument segments as well as a dedicated resource for distributors and international markets. With a diverse background in geology, geoscience, cartography, natural science, and education, Heershap’s experience will bring unmatched expertise to the Brunton team.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have someone with a deep wealth of professional and educational knowledge join the Brunton team,” adds Day. “Lauren is a seasoned expert in her field with decades of experience in the field and through classroom instruction with our professional line of instruments. We are confident that her passion and longstanding history with our precision instruments will help us push our brand forward with best-in-class service and guidance.”
